Not quite but since the OP is new here and is asking how to hotwire something I doubt he will get too many responses. If you are truly missing a key, pul out the keyswitch and take it to the nearest dealer. They can cut you a key on the spot.Originally Posted by zppeacock

on my 85 sx i cut the wires off the key and twisted the red and black together (Ignition was beat with a) that did the job till i can get a new one

not missing the key. when i bought the bike u would sometimes have to wiggle the key to get the green nuetral light to turn on, now it wont turn on at all so im assuming the ignition went out.

disconecting the ignition will work...however you wont have the electric start or lights. i used to do this with my 250sx whenever my father would try and "ground" me from my trike

i have a toggle switch i can hook up to the ignition wires how do i do this. also my pull cord wont retract and i cant figure out how to fix it
