shipping rear fenders

is there a cheap way to do it. i tried the, walk in with just the fender, didn't work. must be packaged some how. UPS will cost 80 bucks to ship ground coast to coast. USPS ground is 107. i have heard greyhound, but they are a little to far from me to test it out.

I think about your only option would be to find a box big enough and quote out USPS, FedEx and UPS (they all quote online if you know the weight and dimensions). I bought a set of rear fenders off eBay for my Recon last summer and I think it cost $30 to ship them. I don't remember who they came through though. FedEx or UPS I think.

i did usps got a quote of 107. have prices jumped that high? the box it is in, is really no bigger than the fender itself. the measurements come up to 38X15X28. its nuts that they go off of size than weight. the heavier the object the more gas they burn right? hell, i shipped a tri-z motor in a plastic tote up to maine for under 40 a year or so ago.

WTF I use USPS and never had to pay over 50 for any fender, plus I send them bare with no box or wrapping what kind of fender? also if your taking the stuff to a UPS or FEDEX STORE then thats why your getting such a high quate take it to a TERMINAL not a store, the stores are privately owned and they mark up the shipping prices.

They charge by size, since there is only so much room in a delivery truck or trailer. I good size bulky box can take up quite a bit of room on the smaller delivery vans.

I don't ship rear fenders anymore since I lost my butt on a nice set of 185s rears I sold on eBay. I priced the shipping too low and it ate into all my profit! They were around $70 to ship because I had a huge box. The more compact you can make the box the better.

Wrap them in a brown shipping paper.. That is considered a package. The box goes by dimensions of the sides added up or something. It puts you into a oversized package pricing.. Just wrapped in paper its a lot smaller.

I got a set of dodge truck stepside fenders shipped on grayhound for $30.00.They were alot bigger and more weight than atv fenders so you might want to check them out.But...they dont deliver to your house.The person will have to drive to the bus terminal to pick them up when they arrive.

This is a good topic here. I shipped a set before and it cost about $80 , but I had them boxed up. I know that if you buy Miejer plastics they come in a plastic bag. I was afraind to ship older oem fenders in such a manner in fear of them getting broken. Anybody have bad luck or good luck shipping them without being in a box?

I just shipped a fiberglass 200x fender yesturday no package priority and it was right at 65 but It will be there in 2 days.

I just wrap the fenders in a contractors large black trash bag.Wrap the bag with a roll of shipping type plastic wrap you can get at the hardware store.I just shipped fenders from NY to IL and it was $22 bucks. The size of the box and no weight you get ed with balloon freight.I havent had a set of fenders get damaged yet.I just sent a set to Raffa this week.I think it was $15 bucks!!! I use the post office too. Never a problem.Same thing with tires.I just wrap them with tape around the label. UPS charges $5 bucks if not in a box.USPS doesnt care.I hardly use the UPS anymore...

grayhound all the way. last summer i shipped a set of rear quarter panels for an Oldsmobile station wagon from Indiana to long island NY and was only $80. as you can imagine, they were heavy and very large.

Grayhound or the good old US postal service. I do everything by the USPS it's cheap. Sent some 200X plastics in a flatscreen box to Iowa only cost $20 and took 4 days

UPDATE: Sent out a FULL set of 85 R plastics today via USPS Parcel Post and it only cost my $13.66! Also sent a tank separate and it was just over $11.
