I've heard rumor that some of the old 3 wheelers would float if the went into a body of water with no rider? Should I expect my 1980 110 to float? It seems possible given the light weight of the machine and the size of the stock tires.

No trikes. Too old, too crippled. Unless I find one I can't live without!

All of my 110's floated great if nobody was on them. We actually let it go into the water by itself LOL. It paddles quite well too. You can't float it if there's anybody on it though.
If it aint old I dont want it!

Yes they float so does the ATC90 I have floated both across many of deep creeks to get to the other side, you need to hang onto them to ensure they keep the rubber side down lol
Which reminds me of a story....when my 85' 110 belonged to my dad, I took it for a ride, up river. All the way until it wasn't deep anymore. We used to do it all the time, and then just ride through the 100' wide river, and climb the rocks, and just get soaking wet. We just wanted to look like the cover of dirt wheels magazine. So one day we went up, and since I didn't live there full time, I did not know about all the rain. The river looked the same, but it wasn't. About half way across, I bounced, and it was just like Neil Armstrong walking on the moon. I started floating down stream, being washed by the current, with me on it, all the time trying to keep balance. All I could think about was my father sitting on his boat further down the river sunning himself, and me floating past him, and having him yell at me. well I hit a couple more rocks, and did a few more moon bounces, and I managed to cross it before it got way to deep. I think I wanted to kiss the ground when I got off. My friend was laughing pretty hard at me.
Oh, so after that, when I went mudding, the way I washed my trike was to drive full speed off the dock into 20 feet of water.
Yes they float, very well too.
My old ATC200 blew a stator once in the river, that was a pain getting that thing out of the gorge. I think I was under water too long, or the drain hole in the stator case was plugged. The 200 floated too.
yes sir they do float the big red i had would i hadnt tried it with the other trikes i got. it is about balance though. i tried to float a 220 kawasaki on time it it floated for a bit then went up on the front end and sunk. it sucked cause it was getting dark and i want to go home cause i was mad and of course a long way from the truck.
