Honda handlebar grips on a Yamaha

Hi guys, I have a 81 ATC200, 84 ATC125M and 86 ATC125M. I got whole bunch of NOS grip for $2.00ea at my Honda dealer, and I want to put a set on my YTM225DX. All three have grips that have an end cap on it (see picture below) where the Yamaha does not. The Honda grips all have a hole in the end for the metal end cap to pass through.

My question, I really like these grips and want to use them on the Yamaha, but the Yamaha has closed end grips without the metal end caps. Do any Honda trikes NOT have the end caps, and perhaps I can source a set of them. Does anyone make handlebar rubber caps that I could cap off the ends? I really like the OEM Honda grips but don't like the OEM Yamaha ones.

Do Honda and Yamaha use the same handle bar size?

    Thanks

If you're simply wondering if the grips will work then yes, they'll slip on with no problem. And no, you don't have to use the honda end caps, unless you just want too, then you'll have to get some Honda bars. New bars are only around 30 bucks. Either way, enjoy your grips.

We tried it on a Tri-Z. They fit, but the trike threw up

Honda bars have a piece welded into them to secure those endcaps (you probably know......)

Are they hard or soft rubber??

Soft rubber. I really like them, very OEM looking (cause they are )and you can't beat the price!

Wonder why the Honda's have the endcaps? I think it is to reduce vibration...?
