    a couple (probably stupid) questions

i got a couple questions about both of my bikes.

first.on my tri-z...what is this bracket looking thingy ma bobber????

second. it looks like the previous owner ported the intake...whats the difference between a good porting job and a bad porting job? does anyone in the new england area do porting? or does anyone have an extra head?

third. the inside of my stator cover is black. is it supposed to be black or is it just wear and tear? is there any way of getting rid of it?

The bracket thing a ma bob, is probably a cable or line route for the carb fuel hoses. Stator looks fine, have you tried to clean it?

The black on the stator cover is just factory overspray and their all like that . The port job is a little rought but I've seen worse and the old skool rule that I remember is if the ports are left rough (ported but not polished )its for more tork and a smooth polished port job was for more RPM .
