    swingarm bearings???

    hey guys i have a 87 honda 250x and the kid i got it from beat the hell out of the swingarm bearings so bad i can get the houseings out of the swingarm any but have any tricks up there sleeves to help me i want to get this up and running but cant get these dam things out .i know i could take it to the shop but what fun would that be .that is the lest option.

    use a tourch and a long socket and then punch them out. i never try and beat them out, normaly the stuff i buy is beat so i have somone remove them with heat. i will install the new ones myself with a large socket then.

    some times it's best to just use a dremel tool and gring a line in the bearing shell, then it will pop out.

    i was thinking about doing the dremel but i will have to go get a attachment for the dremel .then i will try and let you guys know .

    Not sure about the SX's but if there like the 250R's I just use a pc of 1/2" threaded rod, a couple nuts and some washers. you will also need a 1/2" drive socket slightly smaller in diameter than the OD of the bearings. I have also done this in a vice with the socket but it was a little awkward by myself. The pics show the progression of things.

    Works great on the R swingers with a bridge nice and close to the bearings, Wouldn't work on my tecate, all it wanted to do was spread the "arms" apart, had to switch back to the vice for that one.

    wont work on a 250 x because it has a solid tube where the pivot goes threw .but nice idea

    i cut a line through them with a torch, they fell right out after that

    well i used the dremel and cut aa line in them and then popped them out cleaned up the inside and pressed them in .thanks guys . hey anybody with a 300 x or a 250 x .can you tell me what the leasurement from hole to hole on the sprocket hub adpater .iam trying to get the right sprocket and the guy sent me one that dont fit .
