    What year is my 200x?

I just picked this up for $100.

Also came with front forks, tire was nice looking.....except for the cut through it. I believe it was some oddball size, not the same tire that I have on all my other ATC's.

I tried reading the vin, but it's pretty much illegible. My best guess would be:

    jh3tb052x1k402998

Running it through the vin decoder, it comes back as: Decoding Results: Unknown Year ATC 200x

I'm going to start getting parts for it, but I need to know what year it is as apparently the 200X parts are different for earlier and later models.

I'll probably put my 200s engine in it. It turns over and has spark, but it seems to have low compression. This is strictly a guess on the basis of me being able to push the kick starter with very little force (with the plug in.)

    Thanks

Alright, thanks a bunch. I suppose I need a seat, I can always use a mini-gas tank for temporary use.
Going to need the front brake + mounting assembly, a few bolts for mounting the forks, new front tire, and bars.

I figure my running engine + rear tires from my 200s will fit right in and I should be able to ride this within a day or two.

I may eventually get this engine going for the manual clutch. It may be funner to play on, but for trails I'm thinking the auto clutch would be better. Sad to think, a month ago I hated the idea of an auto-clutch......

EDIT: Wow, just my luck. Find a $75 parts bike with stuck motor, except its a 1986.

I'm not sure, but I think it might be missing some parts!

something's wrong about the 10th digit of the VIN. That digit indicates the year. Swingers and shock boots can be changed.
    Have '85 350X-XR500 Hybrid,
    Had Nicholson framed: 90/110, 185s, Gen I 500, Gen II 500
    Had Bandito Framed 90
    Have Vey's Framed 90
    Have too many parts

That one was very hard to read. I basically can see a very small part of it.

Looking up year codes and comparing with the VIN decoder, if I change my tenth digit of the VIN to 'F', then it says 85 atc200x.

I can't see enough to say whether or not for sure it is an 'F', but that is the year code for 1985.
