just bought my first 200X a 1985, Need to know what exhaust is best, DG, Cobra, etc.

what exhaust is the best to buy, i understand it boosts performance considerably. Who has what and what makes are still available?

Also is there any other plastic dealer than Maier?

I'd say Supertrapp is the best....or a Bassani if you can find one.

I wouldn't call an exhaust modification to be considerable, even by a long shot. Now add a higher compression piston, better cam, headwork, and a better intake then ya it would be a considerable mod. As far as best exhaust for a 200X, I would vote for the Supertrapp. They're no longer made, but if you keep looking on ebay, you may find one floating around.

I have had supertrapps, DG's, Cobra's, and a Bassani on the one that I have now. For performance they are all better than the stock setup. But out of the four that I mentioned the Bassani has to be my favorite for sound. I repacked it when I picked it up and it has a real deep tone to it. The DG would definately be my second favorite, because I like the way the muffler forms to the underside of the fenders, and it also has a deep crisp sound to them.

i have a cobra on my 200es, very poor quality exhaust i think. the paint from the factory starts smoking and flakes right off up to the silencer on the first ride. very disapointing to me. i'd say go dg.

Have used Bassani, Kerker, DG, Cobra, Sand Scorcher, Viper, and White Bros., and I can honestly say that's there's not much difference at all between the best of them and the DG as far as power goes.

The DG is LOUD. Didnt suit me for close to houses riding. Went back to stock with no baffle, didnt really make a noticeable power difference.

Best one is my stock muffler with no baffle and 1-3/8" mandrel bent tube all the way back from the head.
