Top Thread, I just bought a 110, will be planning full rebuild, I found a 56mm piston kit on ebay, is this just too big, what issue's can arise from too thin a cylinder wall?

Look forward to your outcome turbowrench, I figure with a 56mm piston and the dratv cam, exhasut and carbie work the little 110 should get up and boogie lol.

With a 56 you need to resleeve. Also you need to open up the hole on your engine block for the new sleeve and you usually have to clearance your sleeve so the con rod won't hit it. I don't really think you want to go this route unless you really have deep pockets and alot of patience. Trust me on this one.

i have been told many times you can bore to this size, its the max but is possible. people claim they have done it very successfully. but i trust your word too, what experience do u have on this 56mm job, besides what your going to wanna do with it. i just need info on the piston job itself. im aware of the porting and other things that need to be done.

The atc110 can be bored to 56mm but it doesn't leave much left on the skirt . Hope you have a real good machinist to bore it . If you can find a 55mm big bore kit that is the way to go IMO.

yeah, i have been trying to find something smaller than 56mm, but screw it, its cheap. cylinders are 25 bucks and i got the 56mm piston for 10 bucks (tucker rocky 10.5:1 56mm) we do have a real good machinist, but if it fails then ill just go oem or try to find something else.

I never knew anyone that had a stock cylinder live long with a 56mm without it cracking the skirt. And depending on how the skirt cracks, it could get ugly way quicker than you can hit the kill button.

So just going to a 54mm would be better/safer? would it still improve performance much?

it depends on the compression, its not really about the size, sure size helps but not as much without raising the compression

I used to run 56.5 and it worked OK. The 56mm will be fine. I have seen a couple crack but that was because the dopes didn't look after them and flogged them all day long.
I have seen 55mm kits out there which would be better if you can get one.

    ebay, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HONDA...3#ht_500wt_956
that is the exact kit i bought, i got mine for 10 bucks then a 13.03 shipping. its a great deal and comes with everything in the picture. the seller has been selling them one after another so if you dont get the bid the first time you will get one, i was the only bidder on mine. if you havent used ebay before its sooooo easy, this was my first buy. all you need is a debit card or checking account, or the guy even said a money order is fine.

I have found that piston with a different seller, quite alot more actually, will watch them both, have asked if either seller will ship to Australia, if one goes Big bore and a DRatv cam or similar what Carbie/intake pipe is then best? and what does it come off lol

    Thanks
