    Question What oil to use?

    What type of oil do I put in the lower unit of my 86 tecate? Regular 4 stroke motor oil?
    84 Big Red- User
    85 250SX- clean
    85 200X- mint- < 10 hrs on it
    85 350X- Mint- <40 hours on it
    86 350X- mint- <40 hours on it
    2-85 tri-z's- Both frame off restorations
    84 250R- Mint- <15 hours on it
    86 250R- Super clean- < 30 hours on it
    86 500R- Sick fast!!!
    86 Tecate 3- Frame off restoration- Mint
    86 Big Red- Mint- <30 hours on it

    I run 10W-30 in my 2 strokes, but I live in colorado, in the summer I run Chevron HDAX low ash 15W40 due to the heat. It depends on where ya live. For LA, 10W40 or possibly 20W50. IMO

    Yamaha brand (Trans Oil Plus) in my Tecate! I change it often....or should I say after riding it hard, comes out as new as I put it in! Can't go wrong!

    in my 250r i use lightweight gear oil for the gearbox. had no trouble.
    my rides: 86 250r, 84 200es & 82 185s
