Question ytm175 won't stay running when shifting gears unless

Hey all. My tri-moto 175 wont stay running when i shift gears unless i have the gas at least half throttle and have it pop the front tire up, which cant be good for it. Any ideas what could do this? It was fine at one time then i did not ride it or start it for like 6 or 7 months and now it does it. Any help would be great. Thanks.

The idle could be off or the carb could need cleaning or dirty air filter.

maybe the clutch isnt engaging and its stalling like a manual clutch bike (it is a auto clutch right?) or stick shift car, thats why u gotta gas it to not stall.

It seems like it only happens when shifting into 1st gear and not every time either. I tried adjusting the clutch but whether its really loose or tight it still does it. Iv also tried adjusting the fuel/air mixture but nothing.

only in first and not everytime...hmmmm do u think something is sticking some of the time. i would take it apart and check it out. and it probably only does it into first cause your going from a stand still, just like u have to use the clutch more when pulling out in a manual bike or car, once your moving you can just drop the clutch, so maybe thats why its just first. idk i haven't heard something like this, ill ask my father about it.

I would try cleaning the carb and putting fresh gas and a new spark plug in it.
