350X front tire opinions

I need to buy a new front tire for my 350X - stock size rim. This is my primary trail rider here in PA where the terrian is rocky with lots of mud and snow. I also ride at Hatfield McCoy, and that terrian is much like a rock quarry, so I need something very TOUGH.

I just put this 22" on the front of my race trike, and I love it so far.

That is the tire I am leaning toward buying. Anyone have any other suggestions?
Durability and steering performance are more important than price.
Anyone have experience with these shorter (22") tires on the trails?

Kenda Front Max, they say it a 2 ply, but it is not a ballon tire at all.

I agree with Yamanda, I live in Somerset county Pa. I have a Kenda front max on my 350x. It is a pretty tough tire. I personally like it a lot.

I like that one you posted. I have been running the Front Max on pretty much all my machines for years and while its a perfectly adequate tire I don't think its nearly as good for breaking as the stock Dunlop which is NLA. I'd like to give that Duro a shot for a change. Its 4 ply and the amount of ground clearance you lose is really negligible. Its only 1 or 1.5 inches shorter than stock overall, that means you lose a maximum of 3/4" ground clearance at the tire but by the time you get back to the engine cradle its even less than that since you haven't dropped the rear the same amount you can just about cut the 3/4" in half again for 3/16" or less than 1/4" lost ground clearance. If you decide you really want a Front Max I've got one here that's just about brand new that I'd let go to put the money towards trying out that Duro.

The only problem I have had with the Kenda's is when they're new, those small ribs pick up sand and small stones when you're riding at night and toss them up into the light beam. It's kind of distracting.

There's not much sand up in Pa though, we mostly have mud, clay, coal dirt, and slag to ride in up here. Where I live there are a lot of massive boulders(mountain)

Dunlop KT151 22x7x11 Found it at the local dealer, havent ran it yet, but it looks cool.
Just another option for anyone interested. HH

I had a Front Max and didn't like it. It was too big. It rubbed my FMF pipe on full compression and just didn't look as good as my current Dunlop.

you say TOUGH conditions,,, my first choice would be a trail hawk,, the toughest tire on the planet i think,, works great in all conditions and its TOUGH ... its the one on the far left,,

KT151 Is the best tire I have ran yet In the hard pack and most other condition's. I have ran the Front max for a LONG time and love that tire also. The kt151 Is not Good In the sand!! It's to narrow and like's to carve In and sinks In the fluffy Gordon's well sand. The only reason I steered away from the front max Is because IMO It looks to big when you run 18" tire's the rear.
