Why do you love your 200x?

So I'm wondering why everyone is so crazy about the 200x. I'm not being rude, I'm just curious. I've never ridden one, but I have ridden a TRX 200 which is a real dog-with the power to weight ratio of a ATC 110.

It seems like the 200x is the most prized ATC, sometimes ever more than a 350x or 250r. I just want to know why. Nostalgia? Rarity? Reliability? Resale Value?

i personally had an 86 x and it was an awsome trike. did pretty good in the dunes. was good on the trails and was an all around fun trike. the 200x is in no way a dog it's got alot of pep. the 86-87's had the square tube frame and also had a 6 speed tranny. 83-85 only had a 5 speed but still good trikes.
    86 200x- sold to a good friend

I think its just that fact that it is an awesome trail machine and can be picked up for real cheap. I couldn't touch a running 350X for what I got my 200X for, $450. Probably couldn't have even got a 350X that didn't run for that price.

I choose the 200X because it is cheap to buy, has suspension and a manual clutch.

The '85 200x is what brought me back to trikes. To me, (before I got my 350x) it seemed like the ultimate trike. Cool looking, suspension, etc. I am a trail rider, so was never interested in an r.

    Hey guys,
How superior is the 200x compared to it's little brother the 200S? Is it the suspension that makes it better? more power?

The suspension is great, I also love having a clutch. The power should be about the same, I think they have different cams, so the power band might be different.

Here's a power to weight ratio list with 86 200x. I'm not for sure on the upgrade hp numbers, but I think they might be reasonable?

I regret selling my last summer for 300.00. Parents told me i had to move out on short notice, didn't have no where to keep it. then they let me stay, oh so mad.

I think it's because they are the most common and cheap fully suspended trike out there. They can be had for like $300-600 in running and good condition out here. I personally didn't like my 200x, didn't have enough power for me, I have a chance to get an '86 200x for $200 in good condition but am not gonna do it cause I didn't really like either of my '85 200x's....

I like them because they adaptable, just powerfull enough to slide them around, cheap, easy to work on, and dependable if you take care of them. I've got five of them all with different suspension mods and I like em all.

inv3ctiv3, How close is Santa Barbara to Monterey? If you are close I will send my brother to get that 86 you are not interested in. I just bought an 85 200x in relatively good shape, and it is the first one I have seen in person, and I think it is a dinosaur compared to my 87 200x. I know I will get a lot of nay sayers, but I have not ridden it yet but I can't imagine it running with my 87 either.

    200 bucks is a steal for a running 86
