    Cracked my Case

After comming back from Summit I was in the hosptial for a week so with the weather nice I took the bike out. So for the past few days I've been tearing the sht out of my track. Well one of my hills is a multi-step-up. You come out of a corrner hit 3rd .and shoot up the hill. Whelp the chain kicked after the 2nd step at the crest and that sick WHACK sound bellowed through the woods. Left case is toast. The bottom of it is hanging and you can stick your finger in it. I have a spare left case so I'm not too worried. I have a whole nother motor but it's racefuel only and it's for a project R. So here's some pics of 5 min before, after the break, and when she"s cleaned up. Now that I'm doing this I might as well change the frame with a titled frame I have ( Kintore here's your new frame). I like the red/black colors and wondering what color to PC the frame/swinger??? any ideas???? I'm giving myself three weeks tops to do this....but while it's apart I wanna make her look MEAN not strawberry short cakeish.

What is exactly right. Does it depends on my riding style or just the 2 finger slack.?

I MX this bike and it gets ALOT of air time. the abuse it takes is amazing and the step-up on the hill is pretty brutal and you do bottom out and create chain slack. as far as a case saver those bolts broke long ago. I bet ya half of all 250R motors out there today have good ones.

FYI - not sure if anyone does this - but your chain should be checked with you sitting on the bike - so you actually need two people to adjust your chain correctly. just a heads up - I never did this until recently.

Wow, this blows. Everyone is in need of left cases but people just keep breaking them. Sorry to hear man. I found some aluminum weld stuff that I'm going to give a shot on my current case and I'll let you all know how it works out. It is supposedly awesome stuff?? I picked up a few rods on ebay for like $10 so I'll give it a try. Might solve the problem of broken cases and repairable case saver bolts.

if it has the bolts then use it but alot of them are broke. their a pain in the to get and if you get one it'll cost ya. I got a NOS today off ebay to build another motor as a spare. Cost was $325 buy it now. I know I could of spent a few hundred more and got a motor but I might still be in the same jam and get a shty motor. So now I know I'll have both motors with good case saver bolts. Tear down starts sunday and hopefully will be done in 2 weeks

If this crap I'm trying works like it claims then I won't ever have another broken case saver bolt hole. They heated some of it up in a video and dropped the bolt down in it and let it cool. When it was done they backed it out and then tightened it back down. The stuff was strong enough to shear the bolt head off before the threads stripped. They also showed two pieces of aluminum pieced together that they were beating the crap out of with a and it wouldn't break, it would just bend. Thick pieces too not any small sliver. Oh well, we shall see...
