This may redneck, but got me thinkin!

I haul wood/logs with my trike, I haul garbage from the rear of my property, to the front with my trike. I even move my ATV trailer with my trike. Some on here plow snow with theirs. So why haven't I seen this option, well not this particular one, but one with merit. http://www.fugly.com/pictures/11293/...awn_Mower.html This kinda intrigued me, or at least got the wheels turning for more practical ideas, now that it is getting warmer. Any run in with this, anyone? Of course I could just go put a starter in my riding mower, and call it a day, but what fun would that be?

Well Mopar, I looked and loved the mower, till I got to the price. I think with all the mowers and motors I have around here, I may be able to come up with a more inexpensive contraption! As a matter of fact, this is my new project idea. The ol ladies new pit bike motor will be first! Then I think I will dabble!

DR is definitely not cheap. I'm sure if you got a riding mower deck, a small engine, some steel tubing and a welder, you could make something up pretty easily.

I planned on doing this at my beach-house in the summer.

    Notes:

Tires - May need a separate set that won't eat up your lawn.
Speed - Don't pull too fast or the mower wheels will drag and rip up grass.
Stares - You WILL get eye-balled!

I still plan on doing it.

just get a mower, or rip the yard up with the trike so you dont have to move. that will fit in a lil better with the redneck thing

Back when I lived in Ohio, I always wanted a riding mower setup to be run by remote control with a wireless video camera on the front. That way I could mow the lawn from in front of the TV.

The only mower set ups I had ever seen on trikes were the old "reel" type mower gang set ups. I had only ever seen 2. One was a 3 mower set up and the other was a 5 mower set up. And the mowers were staggered either 1 in the front and 2 behind or 2 in the front and 3 behind. I don't know if these were from old golf courses or if the same people that made them from golf courses made them for the trikes? This was how they mowed golf courses at one time.

I know its taking the fun out of it....but I would put the starter in the rider. Seems redundant to have 2 motors going to mow the lawn, it would cost a little more to mow than just one engine. Just me though. But it would be cooler to drive the three wheeler while mowing. And I guess if you have a lot of mowers you could make something that would work for cheap it would be more fun.

If you really wanted a redneck idea you could hook an engine to the rider to just turn the blades and then tow the rider, with a friend on the back and a 30 pack. That might not be the idea you are looking for though.

I have been using my bigred to mow for about 6 years now. I bought the mower at a farm store called rural king. The brand name is Swisher. It has a 14.5 briggs eng. on it.It is made to pull behind an atv or you can offset the drawbar and it goes behind and to one side of your rideing mower to widen your cutting path.

That's one hell of an engine for towing behind you! Got any pics?
