Ok guys, we CANNOT figure out what is going on with this machine. It was bought as a 89, and from the work we have been doing looks like its a 86-87. It will not idle. We have tried everything. Have two carbs now, ones totally rebuilt. The other is sparkling from being cleaned so many times. The metal is going to start falling apart from being cleaned so much. Quad starts up good, but will not idle no matter what the carb setting is at. When cold, sounds like its misfiring almost, like a pre-detonation sound. But when warmed up, sounds fine. The quad revs fine, and if you constantly molest the throttle, its rideable. Have changed the plug, and cleaned everything. has good spark. Can a valve issue cause this? i have tried to adjust valves in the past with unsatisfactory results. Not looking to do it again, unless someone can really stupid it down for me to understand. I really just dont get it, lol. Any help would be awesome.
