    Looking before you leap!

I took my 200X out for the first ride of the spring yesterday afternoon. I got out on the track and came up to the first double on the throttle ( It's 23ft peak to peak)....I backed off at the last second,,,I figured I better check it out first. Look at what would have been waiting for me at the bottom of the return ramp....a 15 foot stretch of 2 feet of standing water! If that won't send you over the bars nothing will...it's a pretty steep return ramp to boot...

It doesn't look like it in the picture, but the return ramp is pretty steep. I think hitting that water after touch-down would be like grabbing a sudden handful of front brake with no warning....results may suck.

You did the right thing. A good racer will actually walk the track if they're allowed to. It helps you visualize and remember every important detail of the track. Go over it again and again in your head. Mental preparation is a critical component to a race.
