I have lots of first hand info on Hatfield McCoy trails (Rockhouse trail system) and the town of Gilbert, WV.

To start, here is a link to excellent lodging for small or large groups. Trail system access is directly across the road.
    http://www.thehatfieldhouse.com/

The contact person is Penny and I cannot say enough good things about her.
    - Buys your trail passes and gets maps in advance so they are ready and waiting when you arrive - you pay her back for them when you get there.
    - Will make a beer run into town for you if you have had too much to drink.

This is an ATV friendly town, meaning you can ride your trike to McDonalds or to the gas station or grocery store, etc. Wear a helmet and follow the posted speed limits and the police give you a friendly wave as you ride past their patrol car.
    3-Wheeling utopia!!

I was told that Hatfield McCoy would not allowed 3 wheelers. Is this not the case? My buddies have made the trip 3 or 4 times and they told me that it was only 4 wheelers.

burning rock is 8000 acres and 100 miles of trails. I think its 60.00 a year for non resident membership now. I just called to make sure that they still allow trikes and some one is suppost to call me back in the next few minutes to let me know

I spent a week at the Browning fork Trail house(Right on the trail head)& rode my SX all day & halfway into the night, I highly suggest going there. Very trike friendly.
Try www.browningforktrailhouse.com Find Marty Buckhannon, He's got great places right on the trail head. I had an absolute blast there 3 years ago.
Go there, You'll be really glad you did, you can ride on the streets there too, as long as you're respectful of others. Don't forget to wave at the local
    Po Po, They're cool......

2010 Trip Rockhouse Trails - Hatfield McCoy

We just got back from our trip. We rode the trails for 3 days straight and rarely saw the same place twice. Our group had (3) 350X's, (2) 250R's, (2) 250 pinger bikes, and a cRaptor.

I was leading the pack most of the way. We were bombing the trails at a very high rate of speed and I nearly ran headlong into:
    A goat
    oncoming Cat D9 dozer
    A black bear
    - I was a bit shaken over that one. The mama bear was unhappy about me nearly running over her cub.

It was as fun as any riding I have ever done. More to come on this topic.

Been to Rock House & Pinnical. Awesome trails and RH has great views. "3wheelers are allowed." I called and confirmed only because i didn't see any the entire time i was there. Looking to go again in late Sept/Oct & i will be brining my 200x.
