looks like a PK swinger to me I had one for a first gen R and it resembles that one close. Im not feeling the price on it either I bout a nearly OEM 83 R with a 300 kit on it for 900.... im not feeling this plus if it had all these mods and done corectly WOULDNT IT HAVE BEEN BETTER TAKEN CARE OF? I mean come on its a spray bomb nightmare... you dont see no 50k drag cars with spray paint and ratty parts all over it?
I gotta agree with Syko... Looks like its been rode hard and put away wet... I think for the money you should be able to come up with a much cleaner machine. I would give 100 bucks for it, but I dont like the aircoolers that much...
No trikes. Too old, too crippled. Unless I find one I can't live without!

We gave you great advice and honest answers. Sounds like your ears have been tickled by an aftermarket name dropping goon. Don't get conned. The biggest you can go on a stock air cooled 250R cylinder is 290cc. That cylinder on the machine is not a 310. I still say $300 for it. That thing is used and abused along with the aftermarket parts on it. You really wanna find out if that guy is full of shite, ask him what speed that machine tops out at. That question alone seperates the BS'ers from the truthful guys.
ADMIRIN' BOOBS AND BLASTIN' NEWBS
Its got some neat aftermarket parts on it (Shock, swingarm, gas tank looks to be a desert one), but its all in REALLY rough shape. The carb is $200 brand new still today and isn't that big of a deal. The cylinder can be ported by 1,000 different people to get the same results as that one. The whole thing is really beat looking and unless its a verifiable Team Honda machine, I'd give 2-300 for it and thats about it.
sell the dirtbike, give him some cash, use the rest of the cash to fix it
Whats the bike worth? It's 12 years old, although it's in prestine condition. Is it worth 1000$, is that about the ballpark??
That trike looks all cobbled together IMO.... Whats the hose zip tied on thew right side?? Shock makes it sit very high = wrong shock I'd assume.....
If it's got aftermarket goodies that can bring in more than the CR then do it. If you would rather have a trike and attempt restoring it, then do it. But if every goody on there is stripped, drilled out, beat up (and thats just on the outside) I wouldn't pay too much cash for it.
Has it thrown a chain, has the crank been touched in years? How well does that air filter - filter?? Looks like a mess to me but it may have a few good dollar items on it.............
If the inside is anything like the outside, then your looking at allot of work.

Don't trade...It's no gold mine...more like hill-rod junk. Third pick down (original post) shows engine casting damage, a cobbled rear engine mount, some other non-original hacking that I can't completely understand. There could be a few rare parts there, $200-$300 worth maybe. Just my opinion.
Don't worry...just run watcha brung...
OT - Xfile, if your the guy thats taken care of me before and has those springs, could you please email me and maybe give me a number I can talk to you with about those rear shock springs?? Thanks very much!
I sent you a PM a couple weeks back, but the board has been messed up. I figured at least you'd SEE this, LOL..............

I agree it looks way to hacked. He painted the "very nice red plastics" to save them from fading? It looks thrown together, and not maintained at all. Looks like a terrible deal and the dudes B/Siing you.
Hey, What other dangerously fun vehicles can I Cram in my 2and1/2-car shop? (Garage.)
Looks like a 81-84 engine, radiator hose to hold carb on and to space it away from the engine?
No air box, no skid plate on a desert racer?
