    85 Honda 200x issues

Ok, I need a hand with getting my 200x running again. It's been awhile since she was in top form and I haven't had much time to wrench on it. I had this last week off so I've been working on it every day but still can't get the dang thing to run.

The carb has been rebuilt and cleaned several times. I put new gaskets in the top end. I have spark after swapping some stator parts around. I have replaced the plug. I have changed out almost all of the electrical parts with no luck. I have pulled a CDI off of another machine that I knew worked. I've looked at this things timing so many times I can about do it with my eyes closed now...

And that's where I'm at... I have spark. I have gas. The timing is on. I can't get it to kick start or even pop start and I'm sick of pushing it back up hill... My last thought was valve adjustment, but I'm not so sure about that... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, if you've got spark, fuel and air, then the thing should run..

    Try adjusting the needles?

Maybe something got messed up when you did the gaskets on the upper end and you don't have enough compression. Valve clearances to tight. Head gasket got messed up. If you're sure you got spark, fuel, and the timing is right, the only possibility is lack of compression.

Thanks guys. I'll have to give that a look when I get around to it again. Tried to track down a compression test today without any luck.
