If you get this figured out, post us a tutorial. I'd like to know how its done. Where did you get the internal parts? For Honda's, the don't seem to list internal components for the rear monoshock. I have a 200x rear mono I'd like to rebuild.
eBay had the whole piece that goes n the cylinder. $36 all balls racing. Look at their site . Good luck

Sounds like you'd be better off taking it to a proffesional.

Shock rebuilding isn't something you can usually do yourself. Even the most technical people on here still go to professionals to get shocks rebuilt. It's just too easy to mess up and create a dangerous situation.
"Yes its broken, but does that really surprise you?."
"What happened? What does it look like happened?!?!"
Shocks arn't that complicated... he's not looking to revalve it just make it not leak i'm assuming....
there are a few internal parts you should also replace, the seal head is only one part... check the shaft to make sure its not pitted or rusty if it is there's no sense in rebuilding it with out having the shaft rechromed cause it will destroy the new seal... there are a lot of places to get the info your looking for... the factory manual has a pretty good section on rebuilding the rear shock... im assuming this is for your tecate project?

Yes it is the shock off my 86 tecate. You r right. Just pulled it apart, cleaned it up and wanting to change whatever parts I need to get it working without leaks. The inside cylinder and the shaft are in almost perfect condition. I replaced the part that slides up and down the shaft. What about the piece that is stationary on the end of the shaft? I am unable to fund any parts for that piece. If I put it back together, you think I will be ok?
