Kawasaki KLT 110 clutch/shifter issue HELP!!!

my klt 110 purrs like a kitten. First pull start everytime. However, just recently and unexpectedly, the shifter froze. It won't shift out of neutral. there are not clicking sounds as if it is even trying to come out of a gear or into another gear. Please let me know if you have any ideas on how to fix this.

The KLT110 is prone to this. Probably a bad shift fork or maybe even a broken gear. I had the same thing with my 110, and I ended up just buying a whole new engine. Parts for these are somewhat hard to come by, so it was the best option, especially since I had no engine rebuilding experience at the time.
