    convert to shaft drive

    is this possible? my chain keeps coming off the sprocket and figure id see if its even possible to convert. is it transmission dependent?

    Yes, the machines that have shaft drive have shaft drive engines. Not practical. You should work to try to find out why your chain is coming off. Perhaps you need to replace your chain and sprockets? Chain tension ok, etc.

    i had pulled back the rear axle to tighten the chain and bit and it was good. im guessing it just moved it self up over time. is this normal and is there a way to keep it from moving?

    the frame is a 185s. ive seen a chain tensioner for it on ebay i may invest in that.

    Sounds like its missing the chain tensioners. Should have one on each side if its like everything else. Chains stretch. You have to check the tension every once in a while. But it will be a lot easier than trying to make a shafty 185.

    Did you make the chain too tight when you adjusted it ? If you did they will stretch real fast and wear down the sprockets as well.

    maybe it is missing tensioners? i didnt know they were supposed to come with them. ill check it out and no i didnt pull it back to the point where the chain was taught. i left a little slack in there.

    Sounds like you are due to replace your chain and both sprockets...

    the sprockets look great in my opinion. no damage on any of the teeth. it only keeps slipping off the rear sprocket. im going to try pulling the axle back and maybe come up with some kind of stop to keep the axle from moving up.
