    what is a 1985 250sx worth

There is a guy selling a 1985 honda 250sx and its in excellent condition. Anybody got any ideas or opinions on the value of a machine like this. I'm not really that familiar with this model but its such a clean three wheeler its kind of tempting if a guy could get it for a reasonable price.

The general response you are going to get is it's hard to say without pictures. Once person's definition of excellent could be very different from another's.

I just bought my 1986 250sx three weeks ago. Its in very good overall condition. All it needs is brakes. It came with a spare engine, tank, starter and levers. I paid 1500.00 for all. The guy was asking 1700.00

boy thats all fair if it runs OR died a natural death..as in..
wasn't experimented on by someone who shouldn't play with wrenches.

I just got one that looks like it had Never gotten dirty in over 20 years..not cleaned and detailed, Never dirty.
Original tool kit untouched, museum quality owners man, trunk never had anything it in..that kinda thing. The kind of trike you walk around with a camera looking for tiny imperfections to take pix of and brag about.

intake bolts stripped, valve cover bolts stripped, in the head
valve lash was set with a shovel and way less than 3 ounces of gear oil in the differential.

Choke piston was so stuck I had to boil it in the kitchen while the wife was at work but she still found out.

See if its warm when you get there.

a dead cold start is a great indicator and the 85's had some trouble cold.

12-18 hundred if truly mint, depending on the seller. I have seen nice riders needing little tlc from 4-7 hundred all day!
