YEA... every 2 piece rim i had i gave to the scrap yard. the tires are such a B***H to get off the rim (at least everyone i had was.) i always had to use a fork lift, a block of wood and like 3 people... OR i used a lighter, 10 pieces of paper, and a little gasoline, and it came off rather nicely in about 30 minutes.

The reason it says not to run certain tires on split rims is split rims dont have that lip around the outer edges like the one piece .That lip is like a bead lock .Because you run such low pressure the beads could come off split rims when you pitch the wheeler sideways puts a lot of pressure on the beads. The tire that are made for split rims have a wide rubber area with a nylon removable bead. That what my honda dealer told me and my brothers back in the 80s.I use the split rims with the tires that say (do not use on split rim)

What I do is 1. take the guts out of the valve stem. 2. lay the tire on its side in the driveway. 3. put a metal car ramp on the side up by the bead. 4. put a 3-4 foot 2x6 halfway up the car ramp and drive my car or truck up on the ramp. Some times the bead will break .other times have to back vehicle off turn the tire quarter turn and repeat.Sometimes with the vehicle on the ramp you can hit the bead with a piece of 2x4 and big .Im not saying anyone should do this .But thats how I do it.

small tires like on the 70 will fit in a 6" vise! put the tire in the vice, close, tire is free from outer edge, unbolt rim halves and your done!!
