need help identifying 350x mystery part found in case. Dirt crasher?

Heard this rattling in the bottom of my case when I was changing my timing chain. looked like it was a metal ball bearing. got it out with a magnet.

after getting it out: It is about a half inch long shaft with a plunger looking thing on the side. almost looks like a smaller version of the timing chain adjustment plunger.. I will try to get pictures once I find hosting. anyone have any ideas where to look in the manual till then?

85 or 86?? They made some internal changes in 86......

Honestly IDK what that is? It looks too perfectly shaped...... It does look like a cam chain adj. part. Nothing in the shift mechanism that I can think of that looks like that.

    Hows it run and sound??

I wo nder if tope ends ever got swapped or chain tensioners?? 85 and 86 are different too.

Sort of resembles the plunger from the shift drum....normally there is a spring on the "handle" part.

its an 85. bike ran good. I checked the manual and seen the shifter plate plungers.. but its not those.. I am not sure what the previous owner did as far as the chain guides.. it has me pretty stumped. been through the manual, to no avail.
