I realized when I was there today that meeting at P3 parking is better - much more room to park, and it's also where we met last year.

So everyone meet for 10am at P3 Parking May 1st!

Here's a teaser vid - a quick loop between P2 parking and Lookout Hill: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJrARus149E

For sure! We never leave anyone behind on our rides... anytime there is an intersection, you must wait for the rider behind you before leaving that intersection. This allows us to keep everyone together, and everyone can ride at their own pace.

Let's see some pictures, and hope to see you May 1st!

I met Turtles on his nice shiny new yellow quad!

3 runs at the sand hill... never made it... the first attempt I got a bit of a toss back down the hill. No worse for wear

Wasn't really feeling the single-track: tired me out quickly... spent most of the time on the wider trails just enjoying the ride. Though I pulled over a few times to try to find a the source of a new vibration. Could hear it.. but not see it. Oh well... it won't be the first time I've had parts fall off...

    Can't wait for next week!

Looks like you guys had a great day Saturday too! Too bad I couldn't have hooked up with you guys, but I had to visit a client early in the morning Friday, then I had the rest of the day off so it just made sense for me to go Friday instead.

I'm 99% sure Shannon and I'll make this one, The R will be there for sure and maybe the Tecate if I get my crap together, we will have the enclosed trailer as well BJ if you need to throw a machine in it. I relaid the message this weekend to the Ottawa / Belleville gang and sparked some interest there so we'll see what happens. Hope we get some rain this week to keep the dust boogies away.

For those with GPS units, I have created the following Garmin GDB file that contains a few tracks, waypoints and routes. You can download the file here:

    http://www.ragefaction.info/images/p...2010_05_01.gdb

If you have a different GPS unit, there are conversion programs available.

I have created a couple "Routes" that we can follow in the morning which will bring us to a few of the popular Ganny locations, and then in the afternoon we can just explore the forest visiting trails that we haven't been to before (I'd like to explore some sections of the East forest since we didn't have time to explore that area last year).

    Waypoints

P1, P2, P3, Lookout Hill, Sand Hill, Sand Hill 2, Stream, and Thorpe Hill

    Routes

01 - P3 to Stream: This route is almost 17km in total, and takes us from P3 to Lookout Hill, Thorpe Hill, Sand Hill, with the final destination being "the stream". Depending how long we stay at each of the waypoints, we should arrive at the Stream by noon. A short break, then we continue on.

02 - Stream to P3: After our break at the stream, we will make our way back to P3 for lunch following a different route back most of the way. This leg is approx 18km back to P3.

1pm Lunch Break @ P3: By lunch, we will have ridden approx 35 km's.

03 - P3 to Sand Hill 2: After taking a lunch break at P3, we will continue the ride in the afternoon by heading out to "Sand Hill 2" and exploring the East section of the forest. This route takes us as directly as possible from P3 to "Sand Hill 2" (approx 6km's) allowing us lots of time to explore!

    Tracks

SOT 2009a - Morning: This is the track file from our 2009 morning ride at the Ganny.

SOT 2009b - Afternoon: This is the track file from our 2009 afternoon ride at the Ganny.

These two track files will be useful to help us explore areas of the forest that we have not yet visited.

    Any questions, let me know!
