    225dx question....

    just picked up a 1985 225dx. heres the thing when i put it into gear and hit the gas it goes but not like it should like the clutch is slipping slightly. once it grabs it grabs hard....any ideas? ive already tryed setting it on the right side clutch setting to increase but no change......any ideas?

    so can anyone give me an idea what needs to be done for this clutch issue?

    I don't know if you ever got an answer to this question, but the 225dx seems extremely prone to this problem. Lots of people, including myself, have the same thing. On mine, the clutch adjustment doesn't actually do anything. It turns out the actuating lever inside the cover cracks, causing the inability to adjust the clutch. Looking for this lever myself, I ended up buying a whole new cover on ebay, and have been planning to replace it for some months now. Since I haven't actually taken it apart, I can't be sure if this is truly the issue, but it sounds right to me. Just need to get time to get it done.
