    The Junkyard Dog lives!

So I dragged home this carcass from the junkyard a couple of weeks ago. Found a gas tank and seat/fenders at another junkyard, threw a 200x front wheel and cut spacers on the front, put on 200x hubs and 250r rear rims (thanks atcTim) and got some funky 70's street bike handlebars. I threw a carb rebuild kit on it, and wham! Fired right up! I don't know how long it's been sitting in that junkyard, but it's a Honda... going out to change the oil, but one quick question... it runs great but won't idle... should I move the needle clip down to allow more fuel to flow? No amount of messing with the air/fuel and idle screws makes a difference. Woohoo! another redneck toy to make the neighbors roll their eyes

Nice Matt - now you need a funky headlight for it! Try moving the needle a bit and see what happens.

I would remove the carb again and make sure the idle circuit isn't plugged. A fine copper wire though the idle jet may help remove a plug, that and an aerosol carb cleaner as a chaser. Remove the idle screw as well and blow carb cleaner through it, and make sure it comes out both the bottom where it picks up fuel, and out the venturi.

Nice lookin' trike man!! I'm gonna have to talk to the wrecking yards and see if they ever get these things!! We don't have junkyards around here unless you count everybody's front yard!! Like the part about the redneck toy makin the neighbors eyes roll, I get the same feeling sometimes...

i put one of the ebay carbs on my auto X man what a difference that carb makes ... i cleaned the old one real good and blew it all out and it would run ok but that new carb really made a huge difference in the idle and all over really

Ok... it's still alive, but comatose at the moment... I found out why it was junked. The spark plug hole is stripped. Is there an easy way to fix this without buying a bunch of special threading tools? Another possibility, would a 90 head go onto a 110 motor, or is the 110 bigger inside? I have a spare 90 head.

You could cross reference to old head part numbers on bike bandit to see if they are the same. Even if they are not the same I'm pretty sure they interchange.

But here's a spark plug repair kit for only $20.

    Nice fine by the way.
