    Update

My brother bought an old worn out 318 at an auction and we are parting it out. This means I get to swap over to the twin stick hydraulics and have 2 hydro lines up front. Power angle plow here I come! Lots of other dodads on the 318 I might add to my 316 like the twin brake pedal, fuel petcock, hydro fluid cooler...ect

Heres a shot of the old girl

Here it is 2 hours later....lol

Sure, I'll sell everything but the twin sticks basicly.

The motor has no compression so I have no idea what it needs and I'm sure if you still want it my brother would sell it to you dirt cheap.

If anyone wants any 1985 JD 318 parts just PM me.

I got the twin stick hydro system swapped over to my 316. Now I can add a power angle ram to my snow blade and not have to get off the seat to angle it. I even added the hydro cooler from the 318 but it took me 2 hours to mount it......what a PITA!

You can see the cooler peeking out in front of the side panel.

I recently learned that 318 tail lights from JD are only $8....lol So since I had a reflector missing I replaced it with a new JD tail light. The other tail light had to be ordered but for $8 I can wait.

Soon this thing will be more 318 then a 316.

Today I got the brackets made and painted for my snow plow to have power angle. I took the deck cylinder off the 318 my brother is parting out and used it on my plow. All I need now is to get NAPA to make me some hoses up and I'm ready to be lazy pushing snow....lol

I took the advice of a guy on a tractor site and I cut up the 318 frame to use for my mounts. I bet 90% of those brackets are 318 frame rail pieces.

I made some new hood decals at work today. My coworker did the art work and I ran it through the laminater and cut them out.

That looks great! My grandfather passed away in June, and my grandmother is selling the house and property. I bought his JD 330 from my grandmother. They only made them in 86 and 87, im pretty sure this one is an 86. He took really good care of it. It has 1675 hours on it, but that little Yanmar 3cyl diesel runs like new! The tractor is in excellent shape with the exception of some wear on the foor rests. It has a 50 inch deck, a snowblower attatchment, wheel weights and 4 suitcase weights that can be mounted on the rear hitch for extra weight for snowblowing. My grandmother wanted to give me a deal and sold it to me for $1000. Its a world of difference going from my '71 JD 112 with the 10hp Kohler to that 20hp Diesel!

I missed your post, sorry for your loss.

You got a smoking deal on your 330, and it's great you have it to remind you of your grandfather. The guys on the tractor site I go to are always talking about the 330 like it was made by god...lol They also say those Yanmar motors will run for 4000 hours or more with no problems. My 316 didn't come with anything extra and it was in rough shape but it was free. I hope to get to play in the snow with it this winter! Any pics of the 330? I can't say I've ever seen to many of them. I assume being in the 300 series that it i the same size as my 316?

I guess you'll be looking for a junk 330 now eh? I never really realized how interchangable all the parts were from all the machines that were in the same series. Pretty neat actually.

No Veal, I'm not a diesel man but it is nice that most things inter change without to much hassle within the same series.

I decided I needed a nasty death tool to drag around my track to loosen the rock hard packed clay and to rip out bushes and scare away little furry animals....so I am making this.

I used 3/8'' thick angle for the frame of this thing and had some new mini jack bits laying around in my garage so they are my teeth. I angled the teeth 20 degrees forward to help them dig into the ground as I drag this thing with my 316.

I am using my trailer lifter that I posted pics of earlier to mount this to my tractor since I can lift and lower it with that.

    Thanks for the condolence.

My dad has a 314, and they seem to be quite similar, if not identical in many ways. But, i havent had them next to each other to really closely compare them

I dont have any pics of it just yet, but next time i get it out, ill have the wifey take a couple pics of it and ill put em up. You would never guess it has nearly 1700 hours on it. Its quite clean, inside and out....

I have a question you may be able to answer. Is the rear wheel bolt pattern the same between my 112 and my 330? My old 112 has the nice V-tread rear tires whereas the 330 has the standard turf tires. I would like to swap them but i dont want the hassle of dismounting and remounting tires that have been on the rims for 25+ years. The tire sizes are exactly the same. If i can swap them, ill get some pics when i do the swap and post em up..

if you want extra rear wheels we have the ones from the 318 my brother stole the parts from. Those older tractors have skinnier and shorter tires so that mite be a issue when your mowing.

Your 330 is the same as my bro's 316 just a diesel engine both have manual steering. the 318 had full hydro steering so it's super easy to steer with a blower on the front.

There was a 330 at the local monthly consignment auction close to here and it went for $400 and was really beat way worse them the one were stripping. So your grandma gave you a good deal.
