Steel Braided Brake Lines -- worth it (besides looks)?

I'm coming in for a landing on my '86 350X rebuild. Are steel braided brake lines worth it? I know they look better, but functionally do they make a difference? Thoughts?

Yes, they are better. The steel braiding won't let the hose itself swell. Meaning all of the fluid goes to the caliper faster with more pressure. On a car you can definitely tell a difference, the difference on a 3 or 4 wheeler would probably be small.

I found a place that sells the rear for the 350X for $30. Worth it?

I imagine the front will be about $45.

YES! do it. worth every penny. the front will make more difference than the back will because it is longer but both are worth it. when racing they are a must, the faster you can stop the faster you can go before having to stop.
