Rick siemens has more experience riding all forms of offroad doo-hickys then most of the people on this website combined. While I don't agree with some of his choices, he makes good points on all of what was there, and I agree with them all, atleast on some level.

I had the pleasure of owning and operating a cr450. What he says does not even begin to describe this thing.

Yz490...yeah, he hit the nail on the head here. Between this and the 450, they were two of the worst (if not the) to come out of japan.

you make a very good point about Super "Hunky" fat ass...however ol superhunk will be the first to admit he has very little experiance on trikes. he was against them from the begining and refused to ride them and give them a fair shot. he even has admitted that he does not have an open attitude towards them.

my friend has a wr500 wich is almost the same machine as a yz490. yamaha improved the bike a bit from the yz490, however the suspension sucks, vibrates you to death, and impossible to jet right. I have ridden a yz490 and the issuses were 10 times worse(almost unridebale). I've got to say both bikes were insanely fast. I really disliked the part about atc's, they are awesome(I ride a 85r), infact I'm holding off finishing my 88r and building a 500 trike.

What pisses me off so bad about that article, it's been around for years, is that anti-atv people such as the infamous Bennett Law Firm have included that article in their arsenal and on their websites as official "expert" dirt bike industry testimony against 3 wheel atvs. In my opinion Super Hunky ought to be horse-whipped for the damage that has caused our sport. It doesn't matter if he doesn't like them. They are not for everybody. But if he loves riding so much, why stand up to be counted with the enemy? They shouldn't even have been in his "funny little article". They are ATVS, not dirt bikes.
