    anyone else have this problem?

my 1984 atc110 runs great, starts first pull without even giving it gas if i put the choke in the sweet spot. it runs perfect. but when its running low on gas it wont idle very long. it runs fine when riding it but when i come to a stop it will idle maybe 5-10 seconds then die. the gas level is well over the bottom of the gastank drain hole. once i refill the tank it runs perfect again. its only when the middle of the tank is completely exposed. its almost like the gastank needs the weight of all the gas for it to flow properly, but it runs fine when its on the throttle...
i plan on doing a fix up on the tank soon and im not to worried. im just wondering what your ideas might be. its weird

i was having what seemed to be a similar problem to yours but with my brothers old TTR125. We cleaned out the carb jets and it seemed to run a lot better. But before it was cleaned it would only idle for short period of time with less than 1/4 tank of gas. Hope that helps!

your petcock screen could be clogged and with the less fuel, there is less force pushing the gas through the filter.

thats what i was thinking, but dont you think it would get worse when i give it gas, since the engine is demanding even more gas than at idle and the flow cant keep up even worse.

Check the gas cap vent too. When you refill the tank, you're also venting it. Next time, try removing and replacing the cap without adding fuel. Just a thought.
