    Tecate tear down

    So I decided to not go to Glamis this weekend, kind of bummed but i figured I could use the time to diagnose some problems. Someone said that my increasing RPM at idle could be from unmetered air and I've realized that although I have the LT250r Suzuki engine in the Tecate I'm fairly sure they left the Tecate carburetor on it, possibly a slightly different fit? I'll figure it out this weekend though. I was also going to check into a carb kit because the bike has a K&N on it and I have no idea if the previous owner bumped up the jets or not, how would I measure the old jets and what should I be running in there? Thanks for any feedback!

    Crazy gas line setup. Anyway that is a LT250R style Mikuni TM carb.

    ahhh yes i have had to call of dune trips myself, i had a stator go out on my old yamaha warrior the day before when we were loading the trailer. it was horrible.
    as for the jets, how to measure the old ones? well the number will be right on the jet telling you whats in there, finding the stock size can be found on google im sure, im not 100% on what the stock size is. but what would you run anyway? lol i mean you would prolly want to run whats stock to the suzuki, especially if thats the suzuki carb.
    good luck i hope you find your airleak, check the boot going from the carb to the jug

    Pull the carb and do a leak down check first. No sense in buying jets or other goodies if it won't hold vacuum. Base gasket, mag side crank seal, reed valve gaskets or carb boot are the culprits.
