the nitrogen charge has no effect on bottoming out,,, all the nitrogen does is pressurize the oil to prevent foaming ,,,,
ok. im a noob. where do you put the nitrogen and oil in?

^ Its not that simple unfortunately......
MOST OEM Service Manuals will walk you through it, but it's not like changing oil in a car. You have to entirely disassemble the shock, clean it, change any worn parts (seal head and seals, maybe the bump stop) and then bleed the air out of it. Then you can use the schrader valve on your resevoir (albeit directly connected to the shock or a remote resevoir....) to finish the job by adding nitrogen.
Anyhow, your best bet is to spend some time with the BOOK and or read up an articles found on the internet that show what to look for, whats gone wrong for other 1st timers, and how it's done properly..........
You also have to make certain that the chrome shaft looks GREAT! and it has to be straight, that requires a set of V-blocks and a dial indicator. Which is allot of stuff most guys do not have but anyone in the family or your friend network should have what you need!
If you can get it DOWN! then you can save yourself allot of cash and many shops will only charge 10$ for the 1$ of nitrogen the use to pressurize it. If it's bouncing, then the damping is shot most likely because it is low or out of oil. A welding shop with gas (Oxygen/Acetylene/Nitrogen/CO2/Argon etc etc) may be willing to fill it as it takes nearly NOTHING to fill it up
Good luck!![]()

^ No need for oil or nitrogen then.......
Just loosen the compression nuts all the way and OFF and there will be a giant "C" clip that comes out, then the spring can be removed and you can polish away!!
Not ALL shocks, but many of them can be done this way......
The book should show that too, where's your book!!

If you still need your shock filled I can help I'm in Lacombe.
my manual is at home. im at work now lol.
the hydraulic fitting is at the top and will prevent the nuts from coming off from the top. i was wondering if the shaft unscrews from the bottom also. then i can disassemble it frm there.

Well, since I have NO IDEA what shock you have, I must assume it's a Banshee? the one in your signature??
Good god...................
Anyhow, USUALLY you can loosen them enough to get out the C-ring, did you EVEN try YET?? Or are we still wasting bandwith??
If it's a Banshee, I'd suggest another website and not 3 wheelerbansheeworld.com![]()
