Are aftermarket carb kits any good?

Are the aftermarket carb kits any good ( like Moose) ?

Or should I stick with OE parts?

I read on some of the Moose reviews that the needle and needle seats don't fit very well, and that is the main part I need. But 15 bucks for a complete Moose kit vs. 30 for just the OE needle and seat has me thinking of going with the Moose kit.

But I know you get what you pay for....

Heck you can get a new carb on Ebay for as cheap as 18.95! I can't imagine they would be built very well??

    What would you guys recommend?

They are going in 83 and 84 Big Reds.

    Thanks!

I bought aftermarket kits for both my 110 and 70 with no issues. The 110 has a pipe and open filter so I also bought a bigger main jet. The thing fires right up, idles well, has good throttle response. Very happy!
