1974 Harley SX175

Its been a while since I have posted on here, but I am looking for a little info. My buddy recently got a 74 Harley Davidon SX175 2 stroke dual sport bike. We were able to get it running somewhat after cleaning the carb, but it still won't run right. It won't idle, its hard to start unless the choke is on, and the throttle is like a light switch, like you can't find half throttle, its all or nothing. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with these, and if so, anyone have any information?

Yeah, Ive worked on a few, I would check every jet and compare with altitude, check the needle as well. Those carbs are built kind of sketchy from the start. Good luck on your Aermacchi.

Yeah we lucked out and it has the original service manual. The carb. is funky though, and apparently the "start valve" also aids in low speed running, going to clean it all out once again, blow through it all, and hope that it will idle, and stop revving up.
