    Timing advance 85 250R

Al lright my big question I know stock is 19 degrees at 1500 rpm's has anyone used a timing advance key or even a new pick up plate that advances timing as well, or has anyone even messed with this on a machine at all?

I cant remember who, think it might be esr makes an adjustable plate for the R

I used a chainsaw file on the mounting holes to advance mine a lil bit, does seem to run a lil crisper.

I have an adjustable plate. Made by RPM. Haven't installed it yet though.

I only ask because when I talked to the trinity and FTZ guys they only recommended the cr 250 kit as both shops said they had mixed results with the plates? I figured i would ask you guys since you are un biased

Remove the key and change the rotor index. free. No $$$. I do it. Just dont leave the nut loose or the rotor will spin out and the engine will die.
When its timed to your liking, put a little Loctite on the rotor/shaft and retighten it so it cant slip.

Theres a small change available by openign the holes in the timing pickup, but its a waste of effort since the rotor can be changed.
