Witch motor should I put in my 85 atc 200x?

I have two choices......A crf450 motor with a 488 kit in it.OR a 200x motor bored and stroked out to 252cc's with a 6 speed tranny and a CRAP LOAD of other mods. So witch motor would you choose?

Would the CRF engine even come remotely close to fitting in the frame? Is the sprocket on the same side?

Yes the crf motors Have the sprocket on the shifter side.Same as the 200x. And I have many many drawings of how I'm gonna fit the motor in the frame. So I'm kinda leaning to the crf450 motor.

gotta see where you are going to put the radiators and the airbox.Honda engineers had a hell of a time fitting it into the crf450R mx bike.
if you somehow made it work, the suspension alone would be horribly unbalanced and the power would be stupid. Why not start with a crf frame and go from there????

What year is the 200x engine? If it is 83-85 it must have an XR200 tranny?

    The big bore/stroker 200x motor has a xr200 bottom end. Its a 1985 200x.

build up a 200x motor right, with all XR stuff, powrol 218 kit...it will run good. 450R motor wont fit, 200x has a tiny frame.

Its not that tiny if you stretch the frame a bit and cut and expand the mid part of it to.

where ya gonna fab radiators, a 200x is really not the best idea to cut up the frames. you gotta make them taller anyway to clear everything.

I would use a 1985 tecate 3 radiator and mount it on the forks. Also to hide it I would find a vented number plate. I also know what kind of work this is going to require.
