Laydown Project X

I have nearly finished a full house reno and will have some extra time to myself so starting late next week I will be assembling my new laydown Project X 70/218c engine.
I will post up images of the engine assembly process and fitting in the 70 frame .
I am going back to the original hard tail/ forks after having the full suspension thing for a while. The suspension is good but it makes it too easy to ride. There is nothing like these non-suspension monsters to keep you on the ball.
I might put this engine into the full alloy frame I designed and built 23 years ago. I will put up images of that baby tomorrow.

Sounds interesting. I like your thinking on going back to the non suspension set up, making your ride a little more difficult to handle through the trails. Makes it more fun that way.

I will def be keeping an eye on this thread . Their is nothing like the old school hard tail original trikes . The original racers that made the sport/hobby .

Here is a side view of one of the modded cases. Bare as a baby's bottom.
2nd image with the stroker crank etc installed. A bit of fancy gasket work required up front.
3rd, 4th and 5th images of partially assembled cases.
Top end work next few days. High comp forged piston, Sparks cam etc etc.
