this is a sad story. i cant belive what our tax $ goes to.

on there poll almost 6000 people voted (last i looked) and 92% say they were out of line.

those cops really piss me off.
from what i know the cops attacked the dog before it attacked them then the dog charged the officer in self defence.
i hope they get in a lot of trouble for that.
those cops are what give cops in general a bad name very unproffessional.
i hope that officer has the same thing happen to him as the dog got.
and because they had no warrent they can get in a load of trouble and charges will be dropped for the offender cause a cop cant search a house without a warrent and if he see's drugs the supplier cannot be charged for it.

Feel bad for the dog, he was just doing his job. but if i was raiding a house, i wouldnt stand there and get mauled by a dog, bet your ass i would shoot it. when a dog is mad, you arent going to grab it and hold it down.......although, the dog barking before they entered should have yielded an alternative method to subdue the dog first (tazer comes to mind).

first off i will be flat truthfull i do not like but about 2 police officers all others are power hungry law breakers they speed , run lights to get good seats at the coffee shop, abuse thier power. then to shoot the dog and popping off shots, what if a shot bounced and killed that child or the mother all for a little weed nice really nice. think about the poor kid seeing his dog shot, they were wrong 100%. i might get some guff over this but its how i feel about our goverment and law enforcers. if anyone here is a officer i am trully sorry but i once spent 2 days in jail for mistaken idenity because officers didnt do there job, my truck was impounded and stripped i couldnt even drive it home. so to the dog killers i say a eye for and eye

a man who shoots a single dog...isn't a man at all.

If he doesn't look rabid, you flex nuts, and man handle him. If you aren't capable of that, you need a new job.

I use brapp's big lab as an example, he just likes to jump on people, a quick trip above my head, and he didn't jump on me the rest of the time. He has one mouth...last I checked all dogs do.

i would do the same if i felt threatened but would you shoot the dog if it wasnt agressive or not approaching you?
theres a fine line between defending yourself from an attacking dog and shooting the dog because its a dog.

Pepper spray. Rover will be busy with some stinging eyes but at least it's not lethal.

thats just how i feal about it! my dog is family, i would see it the same as if it was a child.

the last i checked america isn't a communist/nazi country.......and what there doing is just that.

since all this door kick in crap started real crimes solved has gone way down with more unsolved (real) crimes, in the last ten years in NY alone the arrest reate for small possesions is up 490%.....yes 490% not 49%!

i wish they would kick in the door to chomo's or somthing, crist look into a crime where there is a VICTIM.

I own an American Staffordshire terrier (basically a pitbull) and it's not the breed that is bad it's owners who train them to be bad. Those cops were 100% wrong. A dog sees in black and white and it saw nothing but a black object coming in to it's territory and did what it is was suppose to do. If you listen as soon as the door was open they shot first. Then they went into the house some more to kill the poor dog. That dog yelping the way it was theirs no way it was coming at them again. I agree with Cattle-Dog. If it were a poodle coming at them would they have shot it or kicked the dog and continued to search the home. In my opinion they shot the dog just because it's a Pitbull. I have a 4 month old male now who is a reddich brown and i plan on getting a blue female soon. It's one of the most loyal breeds and the only breed i will ever own. I was arrested once for a disorderly conduct charge because i asked why my brother was being arrested. So when i went to court the judge starts reading the charges and the cops said i was threatening to kick his ass and challenging everyone to a fight. That's funny because all i asked was why are you arresting my brother. So when i tried to plead my case the judge and everyone believed the lying ass cop. So yes i myself like Cattle-Dog hate all but the 3 cops i know and grew up with.
