    Mikuni carb on a 200x?

Was browsing ebay and say a Canadian seller with Mikuni carb's for 83-87 honda 200x. I was under the impression that all the Honda 200x's came with Keihin carbs, as does my 84.

I've sent the seller a question to ask him the carburetor size. How many mm is the stock 200x carb? Nevermind, its in the manual, 24mm is stock size.

Hi, back in 1986 I put a Mikuni on my 1985 200x, with a modified aluminum intake boot, Hi rev cam, suppertrapp pipe, and a 13 tooth front spocket. It made a huge difference pushing in that xtra fuel air mix, after all the adjusting was done. I couldn't beat any stock 250Rs or Tecate's obviously, but I sure frustrated the hell out of them, at the local sand pit. For enduro trail races back then. it was an awesome combination. Some times I wish I still had the bike. With improved rear suspention it would have been so awesome.

Is a Mikuni an upgrade from a Keihin? Or just asking for trouble?

28mm was the common size mikuni for a big upgrade . Requires a aftermarket manifold also .

ya the 28mm, but you'll need some engine work done to make good use of it.
