Cobra exhaust for Honda trikes: your thoughts?

Hey everybody. I've been kicking the idea around about piping one of my trikes for a while now; either my 250 B.R. or my '81 200. I really don't know how much gain I'll see (if any) and I'm also kind of worried about losing some bottom end torque from the lack of backpressure.

I seem to find these kits on a regular basis on Ebay all the time for about the same amount of coin. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/COBRA...Q5fAccessories

Also, if I did buy this kit, could I get away without re-jetting? I'm sorry if these questions are novice, but I've never put pipes on any of my ATC's before.

I had the cobra on my 350X and hated it... Loudy raspy sounding junk. Waste of money (IMO)
No trikes. Too old, too crippled. Unless I find one I can't live without!

2nd this. Although I have only had one on a 200X. no spark arrestor, sounded like a straight pipe with a megaphone attached to it. i think i actually lost power!

Who else still makes pipes for either the 250es or early 80's 200 other than cobra?

I agree totally, but if you pack the silencer with wire wool it actually sounds quite good.

i have a Cobra on my 84 200s. The engine is freshly rebuilt with a brand new head and cam. I also have an aftermarket air filter on it. It is on the loud side but has alot more power than through the stock pipe. it is even louder than my 86 200x with a DG pipe though. If you do not need a new exhaust but just want one for more power keep your eyes open for a super trapp, then you will be spark arester legal, and they make great power and sound.
