I need help trouble shooting my master cylinder
I just rebuilt and re-installed the front master cylinder and caliper on my 1999 Yamaha V-Star. However, it still does not work. I have rebuilt many master cylinders in the past and this is the first one to give me this kind of trouble. I am hoping I just over looked something simple and some on here might be able to point it out. The issue I am having is it still will not build pressure and has far as I can tell it is not sending fluid to the caliper. The front brake line is clean and the master cylinder seemed to work on a bench test. So any ideas?

Have you tried to disconnect the hose at the caliper and see if you are getting any fluid out at all?
-
I have not because the fluid level in the master cylinder is not going down. I did make sure the hose was clear though.

Take the line off and see. You may have something stuck in the mastercyllinder. If you take the line off should you get some fluid if its not clogged just by gravity bleeding it

I am about to head out and try that. I thought about it some more last night and I think yo may be on to something there.
