I also tap'd each hole so I have no snags on assembly. I also reamed out all the 10mm counterbores for the dowels as well. Prep'd each gasket surface too! Picked up a few stainless bolts from work, still need to grab the rest. I powdercoated these cases in a flat black for something different. I also installed a trick little magnetic drain plug I had kicking around.

    Thanks Guys!

    ROAD BLOCK!

The night started good. I scored some really nice high precision Nachi 6004 and 6204 bearings at work today. I dug out the SL90 tranny shaft I bought NOS and my gear set I had cleaned up from the original 1984 110 motor I started with. I took apart the output shaft to transfer over the gearset and discovered that the original output shaft measured 20mm OD and the SL90 shaft I have measures 18mm.

Question is...Do I have the right output shaft needed for this conversion? Or do I have the wrong SL90 shaft? Part number of the SL90 shaft was 23221-052-000.

Not sure whats going on here. Mike any idea?

Ok . I pulled some parts out and measured them for ya . First off the tranny shaft you have is correct @ 18mm , the problem I believe is the 84-85 motor have a little beefier tranny and honda bumped it up to 20mm on the 84-85 model . I measured a stock atc110 1979 model shaft and its measuring 18mm also . If your wanting to use that bottom end I think your gonna need a older model atc110 /90 tranny gears and bearings .

Thanks Dan. Got your pm. Unfortunately my there is nothing wrong with my transmission. The issue is that the counter shaft from 81-85 are all 20mm shafts. The 1969 SL90 shaft is 18mm. Thus meaning that inorder to make this swap on a CDI motor you will need a counter shaft from a 79-80 110 or any 90 counter shaft and gears because they have 2nd and 3rd that are splined for an 18mm shaft.

Needless to say I bought NOS gears that I needed to make this conversion work.

Dan are you converting a CDI motor. You will most definitely run into this issue if that is the case...
