    110 Valve Adjustment

I'm doing the 110's valve adjustment today. I'm having trouble getting the nut loose on the intake adjuster. It looks like 9mm and I can't get anything in there. Ratchet hits the frame. I tried the lock pliers on the 9mm hex head and it's just spinning.

    Any advice?

I use a small 14" drive rachet with a deep well socket. i think it is 10mm - not 9mm BTW. Also - it should be able to be done with a 10mm wrench.

Stop using the pliers. You'll destroy it and put metal flakes in the engine. And make it so you can't get a socket on there. Or did you put the pliers on the socket? Sometimes that will work. Kinda messes up the chrome on the socket but its better then messing up part of the engine. You could drop the upper motor mount and it might drop down enough to get the ratchet on there.

I just finished it. I wound up using a 9mm socket on a 90 degree extension to get it done. Somehow mine is 9mm, not 10. Weird. Anyway I had to really loosen the adjusters to get the proper clearance. Overall much easier than my 4 cylinder sport bikes.
One down and 2 more trikes to go.
