I put a 38mm PJ on my '85 250R, and the new carb is shorter throat to throat, will a 12mm spacer get me the extra length I need to hook up my airbox boot? Stretching around the carb throats is not a problem. I did a search and couldn't find anything. Thanks Steve

I loosen the bolts for the rear mount on the airbox, and usually the intake will stretch to the carb with some help.I use a small pry bar and pry lightly to pull it over.You can also take the rear mounts on the air box and groove them so the box will move forward to compensate.You may have to remove the box and groove the front mounts as well on it -depends on how much you need.The rubber will stretch.I am speaking of the rubber to the airbox, not the cylinder.

I also went back to the stock carb on mine, left the PJ for my 86.The stock carb matched up better to my stock intake-lmao! go figure huh?
