Unfortunately the canam has a frame that was designed by a fairy... and a pricetag that thinks a little too highly of itself.

I need something the size of a 2 up so me and the gf can ride comfortably. The old 300 I got just isn't enough when riding in the mud. The 2 inches of suspension travel is just enough to tip you over when creeping and leaning to get traction.

The bike must be able to cruise comfortably at 50.

Another unfortunate thing is that most of these new bikes can't hold their weight after a short period of time. which is really quite sad.

I think that KQ you were talking about will do just that.

now now, G-man the term is FAG...lets not confuse our newbies. Gay men don't have wings and Tinkerbell works with lost junk.

    Exclamation

That's a term I typically don't use. Partly becuase I'm not a homophobe who has issues with his manhood.

When I said it looked like it was designed by a fairy... I did indeed mean the little winged creature that flys around. The manufacturer forgot that most riders are men. Men don't look for ways around or over things, we get in em or go through em.

The Polaris frames are miles above any other manufacturer when talking durability. Prolly why their bikes wall weigh 700+.

10-4 and agree I'm not pobic to calling any gay man a fag either. Even if he does work for Polairs and wears wings on the ASSembly line.

Maybe most of you guys will disagree with me on this one, but I would say look into the Rincon 680. Honda is known much better then anything else for reliability and there transmission is second to none. Gonna be down on power from the v-twins but the price is where you want it. Ride quality is there and it will handle 2 people and the speed you want to maintain with no issues what so ever. just my .02 cents
    Bikes I currently own.

Lol that's a negative on the rinny.

35 hp out of a 680cc engine is disgusting. Suspension is crap. Rear end is weak. It's a Honda so that means no dealership will warranty it when I break something.

The only good hondas are old hondas. Too many mods required to be competitive. My old 300 can spin 28s in anything and is basically stock. That rinny isn't doing that.

My buddy has a CanAm Outlander, and that thing is tough as whale bone... He has done nothing but pound the pooh out of that thing, and it always start, and always goes... IF I were going to buy a 4x4, I would have to give a CanAm some serious consideration... (Just my opinion)

lol seems you 3wheeler guys have some serious angst when it comes to discussing 4x4s.

Thorpe man, I thought about a canam as I like the rotax motor...but the frame just isn't going to hold up down here. Not to mention the bike is just small to me.

out of all the new quads of any make and any class i have never heard of the frame being the weak spot of the atv, frames now of days are over looked because they arnt a problem. Can-Am even makes a 2 person setup and im guessing the frames design is super similar just longer. when buying an atv the frames wouldn't be a worry for me. also idk why people seem to think hondas suck now days. while they may be under equipped, but everything they makes works. out of all the new bikes that leave my dads work honda customers always seem to end up the happiest.
the Original thread maker was stuck between the polaris and suzuki, most said dont get the polaris yet its still getting brought up. i think deep down Goat want the polaris and just wants to hear others agree to that and support. I think anything new will be fine, even the polaris. i have felt the same about wanting a 12 gauge yet majority says 20. comes down to what i want and thats a 12. =) get what you want goat not what we want. new for new they all due what job you assign with some to spare.

The frames ARE a problem... once you start looking for issues, it's amazing how many people have had their frames replaced under warranty.

When the money comes, my first step is to call the guy up the road and offer him 6500 flat for the 2008 artic cat 650 trv. If he says good, I'm getting that one. If he says nope, I'm driving 120 miles to atv zone in roseland, la and handing scott a check for him to order me an 800 popo. The more I'm looking at them, if I get anything else I'll be getting less bike for the money.

I sent in a price request on the popo 800 to a closer dealer, and now he's constantly emailing and calling trying to sell me an 09 800r canam. I explained I have ZERO interested in a 10k offroad machine. He keeps calling. .

Honda's are for people who don't expect a lot out of their machines. It's even getting to the point where the new ones can't do farm work... valve seals are MELTING even with aftermarket oil coolers. The 650h1 is first choice. The 800 popo is second. Hopefully I know something this week.
