Cool Got my 110 going again! But now a problem...

Well, it took me about 4 1/2 hours to strip my old frame, clean the new frame, and put everything on it.

    The thing runs like new!

But I'm having a problem with the chain. It seems like the spacing between the links is too much. The weird thing is this was not the case on the previous frame.

Each time I drive it, this happens:

I tried tightening the chain, loosening it, but nothing seems to work. Like I said it's like the spacing between the links somehow lengthened in the past 4 hours. It doesn't fit snug on the sprocket any more. Any ideas?

It looks to be slightly curved, but it doesn't make sense becaue the curve is in the direction the chain is being pushed..

I need to try to solve this by tomorrow, because my dad and brother want to go out to the desert on friday, but we only have one other running bike...

Are you sure your axle is seated all the way in the bearing carrier..? Might have to loosen off the axle nuts and give it a wack with a Piece of wood and a big , Could be a tweaked frame in the wrong spot.....Or loosen off the motor mount bolts and get the motor to shimmy over a bit..

I'm not entirely sure. I'll check all of the alignments tomorrow then. Need to somehow fit in a quick oil change too lol.

    space betweeen the links?

Am I hearing you right? link spacing seems wrong?

    .as opposed to be alignment.

It could be walking off the front sprocket like the previous post.

I had some wierd one just like that...let me see....

The chain was off a cement mixer as I recall and was not metric but fit the worn sprocket perfectly!!!!!! (garage sale find, complete with farm fixes)

or the chain was a new honda metric chain and it didn't fit the rear sprocket, or a combo of both.

It's been a few years on that one.

did you use your orig chain and sprocket or was the rear sprocket on the new frame.

They like to wear (out) together, they call it 'stretch', but people with creditcards change sprickets as a set along with a new chain.

Something I personally have Never done.

    Gotta be something, right?

Can you see a number on the chain itself? because there IS an imposter that is very very close.

or you could try flipping the rear sprocket over so it rides on the wear side.

Possibly even flip the chain over to match the drive side.

Gorgeous pix but I might be hallucinating a drive wear pattern on the rear sprock.

yea, try flipping the sprocket or chain.

    It USED to work, right?

Guy tried to sell me a computer by telling me it was the fastest computer ever made in its day. (they ALL were, right?)

Times like this make me wish there was a belt drive option.
or maybe even a hydraulic front or rear wheel drive.

    You'll get it figured out.

As far as I know it's all original parts. I just got a new frame (bare frame) and put everything from my old trike onto it.
