250ES and SX exhaust the same?

Buying a supertrap from a 250SX, will it directly fit my 250ES? Plan on upgrading the engine, this would be a start.

    Thanks

Hummm not sure, the OEM muffler is different, the head pipe is the same. The muffler is similar, but the mounting tab are different and the pipe is different, check with the part number but I'm 99% sure the parts are different

I do not think they will fit without modification.

I have one of each on my bench right now....and the muffler itself is the same can....the spark arrester tip seems to be about 1/2 inch longer on the ES, and the 2 mounting tabs on the muffler are not quite lined up, and the mounting tab on each pipe(the pipe that enters the can) is a totally different beast....and the front pipes on the mufflers are bent quite differently.

I have never had a Supertrapp before...but don't they just have the straps for mounting that make them kind of a bit universal...universal enough that it would work on an ES or an SX ? Maybe the angle of the muffler itself wouldn't work with the ES....sorry...I guess I have not helped much.

I can't really answer your question but I wanna know where you'd be buying it.
I'm looking for an aftermarket exhaust for my SX and I couldn't find anything but shitty Cobras.

On here, my crappy looking BR has a stock exhaust with aluminum foil over half of it. I'd like a supertrap but don't want to buy it then not have it fit.

I asked this same question a few weeks ago, with the only response being to buy a Ford tractor muffler at Tractor Supply. Let's keep this thread alive until someone has an answer. Since I might be picking up a 250SX, I think I'll keep my NIB SuperTrapp together and try to patch up my Big Red exhaust. I found mine through a dealer selling out discontinued stock on ebay. Bought it to rob the stuffing to convert the innards of the Cobra on my 350X with the SuperTrapp end cap. It was an old school mod.

Unless you find an exhaust on ebay or from a dealer covered in dust there is no other system for these machines other then cobra. Has been that way for about 7 years i think now. You can always make your own or find and exhaut company and have 1 custom made. But as far as bolt up ready cobra is your choice, that is unless you get lucky on ebay or from craiglist or something. I spent months looking before and called all the manufactures, Cobra is it fellas,, Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

How hard could it be to modify something for a 250EX,300EX, etc.? Just get something you like and cut the pipe from the front of your SX muffler and weld it back onto the new can....just a thought. Looks like there would be a market for somebody with the inclination to do such a thing.

I have a cobra exhaust that has been on both my sx and used to fit an es bike. My previous setup was a stock header with heat shield and a bassani 200x silencer cut to fit
